Bachelor of Arts in Teacher Training

The Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education is a programme of study focussing on the practice and methodology of dance, with the additional subjects of music and related sciences.

In this course, students are encouraged to develop their own identity as creative dance educators. They decide whether to major in Ballet or Contemporary/ Modern Dance with the other subject as their minor.

The programme is based upon the full-time study of methodology, music and music theory, as well as dance history, education and psychology. Students experience the classes as creative processes, demanding flexibility and creativity, and can be very enriching in terms of their own level of personal input. The course provides an intensive preparation for the multi-faceted challenges of the profession of a practicing Dance Teacher. It covers project work, teaching amateurs, organizing outreach programmes, as well as training students who aim to become professionals.

The course of study lasts four years, and 240 ECTS cedit points are acquired.
