Profile

The Bachelor of Arts - Dance Teacher is an interdisciplinary course of study with practical and methodological dance, musical and scientific subjects.

During this course of studies, students are encouraged to develop their own identity as creative dance instructors. They decide whether to major in Ballet or Contemporary/Modern Dance.

The course of study is supplemented with a large share of methodological, musical subjects with theory components as well as Dance History, Education and Psychology. The course of study offers students intense preparation for the various challenges of a career in dance education from project work with amateurs to dance in schools to basic dance instruction.

The BA Dance Teacher is equivalent to the profile of the Palucca University of Dance Dresden with a close link between ballet and contemporary dance and improvisation.

Students decide whether to major in Ballet or Contemporary Dance / Modern Dance at the beginning of their course of study, and the other subject becomes their minor. "Community Dance" is a further focal point in the course of study.

Comprehensive studies in theoretical, scientific subjects complement the education.
