Master Class

Admission Requirements are:

  • an above-average university degree in a realm of study which the applicant wishes to explore deeper,
  • special expertise as regards cultural, artistic, and social issues,
  • the successful passing of an entrance examinations.

Admission procedure

Admission will be granted by a master class commission which will be named by the school's senate. It will consider the candidates' formal requirements and the results of their entrance examinations, which attends to their artistic skills and theoretical knowledge.

Application papers must be submitted to the students' secretariat of the Palucca Schule Dresden - Hochschule für Tanz. They must comprise:

  • a short letter of application stating the desired specialization and the mentor of the candidate's choice,
  • a description of the candidate's educational background,
  • certificates, such as school leaving certificate, university certificate or diploma, or vocational certificate (notarized translations of foreign certificates),
  • a documentation of previous artistic work,
  • three passport size photographs (Please write your name on the back of each photograph!),
  • an orthopeadist's certificate stating that you are physically capable of pursuing dance teaching programme at university level

Application papers must be submitted a fortnight before the entrance examination at the latest.

Foreign applicants

Foreign applicants need a current visa or a residence permit.

Applicants are required to submit documentation which demonstrates that they have undergone preparatory training in their country of origin which is officially recognized by the State Ministry for Science and the Fine Arts.

Students must have a sufficient knowledge of the German language.

The Palucca-School offers language classes that support students whose first language is not German.
