Young Talents Programme

Requirements

• creative dance imagination, joy in dancing, performance talent
• above average flexibility and a slender, athletic physique
• musicality
• a basic knowledge of dance is desirable

For those who satisfy the above four prerequisites, a final selection, as defined by the admittance regulations of the Palucca University, is required for acceptance to the Professional Dance course of studies.

Admission

Admission to the Young Talents Programme is dependant on a high level of artistic talent and completion of the 6th form of a secondary school with the corresponding qualifications or a Gymnasium according to §13 Sect.1.7 of the Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of Saxony).

Candidates for admission must submit a written application (admission application/registration). The application must be submitted to the student office by the stipulated application deadline for that school. The application also needs to include the following:

• a notarized copy or transcript of the school leaving certificate for the 5th form (as well as the school report for the 6th form);
• a letter of recommendation for the secondary school or the Gymnasium;
• submittal of a medical health certificate (sport medical specialist or orthopaedist) which confirms the exceptional resilience required for a course of studies in preparation for a professional dance career.

A candidate selection process is held prior to enrolment. Simultaneous enrolment in the same course of studies at several art colleges is not permitted.
