The Secondary School

The secondary school comprises forms 5 to 10, upon the successful completion of which a school leaving certificate is awarded. Together with a corresponding performance in the dance subjects, the certificate serves as entrance qualification to the four-year college degree programmes at Palucca Schule.

Classes have one intake. Full-time lessons are held in modern facilities for up to ten periods per day. The emphasis of the education is on art and culture. This includes compulsory dance instruction, with approximately 12 hours per week for students in the 5th and 6th forms, and approximately 17 hours per week for those in forms 7 to 10. There are no additional PE lessons.

The school day includes a one-hour lunch break with meals offered at the cafeteria. Interesting extra-curricular and recreational activities such as project days, theatre excursions and workshops are offered alongside the regular school lessons. The students are given many opportunities for performances, e.g. as part of the school programme, in theatre productions, school concerts and other events.

The secondary school is actively involved in the preparations for the annual “Open Day”.
