Admission and Enrollment

Admission for the Master‘s programme is a two-step process, consisting of a pre-selection, in a written form, and a practical audition in Dresden.  Following successful completion of the pre-selection, candidates invited for the practical audition are required to submit a written concept for a 30-minute class, one week prior to the audition, in their chosen specialisation. The audition enables them to demonstrate their aptitude through teaching the class and having an interview with the Board of Admissions.

The enrolment for the part-time Master’s degree “Dance Teacher” (work-study programme) takes place annually for the winter semester. The next enrolment for the full-time Master course “Dance Teacher” (on-campus programme) is in winter semester 2020/2021.

* Evidence of higher education or technical college in accordance with § 17 Abs. 11 SächsHSFG when especially high levels of artistic achievement can be provided.
** The Admission to the on-campus programme for foreign applicants is conditional upon proof of German language skills. A minimum of level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages has to be proved. For the work-study programme a C1 level of English language is needed. If the proof of the language skills is not provided by the date of enrollment, the enrollment is only conditionally (in accordance with § 17 Abs. 11 SächsHSFG ). The C1 level of German/English then has to be proven by the end of the second semester, otherwise the enrollment will deemed invalid.
